Your Questions About Maytag Washing Machine Parts

Donald asks…

What’s the best place to order a washing machine part from?

I have a Maytag A108 washing machine and need to order a timer for it. Any favorites among on-line parts suppliers?

AppliancePartsPlus.net is the site I always use. The parts are cheaper than a mom or pop store and most major supply chains such as Sears. For example, I bought a heating element for my dryer for 22.00 plus 7.00 shipping and handling. When i went to a local repair shop to have a part checked they offered me a new 1 for 33.00. After i told him i already purchased 1 & the price i pay he said he could have sold it to me for that but they always add a little so they can make a small profit.

Mark asks…

Maytag washing machine will not work?

My maytag washing machine does not work on regular or permanent press cycles. It will work on delicate but I have to manually advance the dial. I started using it this way about 2 months ago and now its starting to sometimes not work on spin in the delicate cycle. And when it does work it stops mid cycle. Any ideas as to what part or parts need replacing?

Maytag Washing Machine Repair Question?

After replacing the tub seal which is pretty much universal in maytags, it is leaking worse. I replaced the tub seal and bearing kit and everything went very smoothly. Did I need to put something on the cork material before installation. Is there a special grease that needs to be thick on all sealing surfaces? Please help, all the parts were oem maytag genuine parts. Thanks in advance!

I always grease it up when replacing a tub seal. More often than not you’ll make it worse if you dont.
