Maytag refrigerator in door dispenser won’t stop?
i have a 10 year old maytag refrigerator and it has the ice/water dispenser built into the freezer door and when you go to get ice or water the tongue or gray button you press gets stuck and won’t stop and you have to open up the door to stop it. what’s wrong and if so is there a part or a eazy fix to this ?

Turn off the water supply behind the refrigerator.
Just use ice cube trays until you can get it repaired or get a new refrigerator

Maytag Refrigerator not cooling, freezer working though?
I have a Maytag ZigZag, model #MZD2766GEW, and from what I have read, these refrigerators just have issues and so my problem is pretty common. I read that I should defrost the coils, so I looked and sure enough they were covered in ice. I got the ice completely melted off but still there is no improvement in the fridge side. The freezer, however, works fine. The article I read said to replace the defrost component, but since I already did a manual defrost and it didn’t help, I hate to throw money into replacement parts to keep that particular function working. I figure it has to be something else. Any ideas?

The seal around your fridge/freezer’s door, called a “gasket” and it could be allowing excess air to seep in, causing air to freeze and frost to build up. The gasket is something you can visually inspect for cracks and defects.

Just may need oiled. Take a pocket knife or something with a small blade or point. A nut-picker works good. Jab the blade or picker into the side of the button and twist the button out. Penetrating oil or WD-40 with a straw type nozzle will direct your lube into the button mechanism. This should free it up. If this doesn’t work, the spring behind the button came off and has to be put back. Disconnect the ice-maker (should be a panel) and pull the plug out.
