Get Maytag Parts Washer

Maria asks…

Is there a site that has the complete parts breakdown of a Maytag Top Load Washer?

I have this Maytag washer that is driving us insane. During the spin cycle or the rinse cycle the machine vibrates and bangs around violently. It has steadily gotten worse over the past year and no amount of balancing (busted out my level and a plum bob to make sure) is able to fix it. Its not how we load the washer because it will do it empty. Any help would be appreciated.

All wash machines come with a cement block of some configuration attached to the underside to counterbalance heavy loads, however, it must be freed up so it can move around and this is usually done during installation. If you bought this machine and brought it home and didn’t release this block then that could very well be your problem, if it was already in the home when you moved in, it still may have been installed improperly. However, if you’ve used it a while and it used to run fine, and just recently started this behavior, then that’s probably not the issue. Sears Parts Direct Commecial website has schematic blow ups of all laundry equipment. You will, however, have to register to become a member of the site. It’s spdcommercial.com

Try this site, www.Lehmanshardware.com. They cater to the amish and just might have parts.

Nancy asks…

Why does my Maytag washer and jump around during the spin cycle?

I have had other washers that have jupmed around during the spin cycle “once in a while”, but this washer does it every load. It did it so badly last week that it pulled the drain hose off the tank and flooded the room. I have leveled it, checked for broken parts inside, but nothing seem broken. Anyone know how to fix this

There are two things that come to mind. One is that the clothes in the washing machine are not balanced…meaning there are more clothes on one side of the washing machine than the other. The second thing is that the little feet under the washing machine are not level, therefore making your washing machine not level and balanced, causing it to shake and jump when it’s in the spin cycle.
